Remember to include recycling in your holidays. Here are a few ideas:
•Something Old Gift Exchange- you can only give a gift that has been previously owned.
•Time is often a bigger gift than money. Creating coupons that offer free babysitting, a neck massage, lessons (something you know how to do) or a special treat can mean more than a purchased gift.
•Purchase gifts that are long-lasting or that can be reused and later recycled.
•Avoid commercial wrapping paper, ribbons, bows and tape, which are not recyclable, and opt for gift bags, tea towels or nice boxes, which are eco-friendly.
•Buy goods made from recycled products. When you see the "green chasing arrows" emblem on a package, it indicates that the container is made of recycled materials or that the manufacturer recycled to produce the item inside.
•Google “recycled gifts”. For example go to these websites www.TheHungerSite.com & uncommongoods.com and click the collections/recycle buttons. Target also has an eco friendly gift section www.target.com.
•For other alternatives to purchased gifts check out www.buynothingchristmas.org/alternatives/index.html
•Make plans to attend the White Elephant Gift Exchange in January--a great way to reuse items and have fun at the same time.

Gasoline prices getting you down?

Consider getting to know your neighbors better and save gas.  If you are going to the store, call and ask if there is something you can pick up and visa versa.  Some folks in Cordillera are already doing this and saving big!
